COLOR GUARD AMSA PRINCETON 2022

5 August, Friday at 6:45 pm, all members of the Color Guard will bring their flags and assemble in uniform outside the Carnahan Room to organize under the direction of the New Jersey Society Color Guard Commander for the first posting of the colors. The first posting of the colors will take place at the start of the business meeting in the Carnahan Room. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm and last until 10:00 pm. The colors will remain in place in the Carnahan Room overnight as the meeting Saturday morning will also be in the Carnahan Room, from 9 am to 12 pm The colors will be retrieved at the end of that meeting.

6 August, Saturday at 6:45 pm, all members of the Color Guard will bring their flags and assemble in uniform outside the Alexander Ball Room. The colors will be posted in the Ball Room at the beginning of the banquet, which starts at 7 pm and lasts until 10:00 pm. The colors will be retrieved at the party’s finish, ending Color Guard activities for the weekend.

THE ORDER OF THE FLAGS IN PROCESSION 

Flags will be carried in the following order, as set out in the SAR Color Guard Manual, Page 9: U.S. National 50-star Flag; any other official U.S. National Flag (13 star Hopkinson up to and including the 49-star flag); Betsy Ross Flag; State Flag of New Jersey (the Host State) Alabama (home state of the President General);  State Flags of other State Societies in attendance carried in order of each state’s date of admission to the union: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New York, DC; SAR Flags (state-society flags first, chapter flags last); other historical flags of the Revolution.

A NOTE TO NEW JERSEY COLOR GUARD (or others who may be driving): Remember to bring flag stands for indoors. We will probably need as many as we can lay our hands-on.
